Besides the info already posted on the other forum I also found that Josiah & Sarah (Hoskins/Haskins) Nichols had a dau Electa born c1806. Her death record is available online for free. It states she died 16 Mar 1888 at Algoma, Kent Co, MI, that she was born in VT and that her parents were Josiah & Sarah. Her husband was Benjamin Pettengill/Pettingill. Sarah/Sally Nichols also died in Algoma, MI. Info on her death is available online although the actual record image is not yet available. The info on her record is that she died 27 Aug 1868 at Algoma, she was born in VT and her father was a Haskins, born in VT. It's normal to have conflicting info on birthplaces because each record may have had info provided by a different person. Sally is shown as born in MA on some records. Mary E. (Nichols) Bush is shown as born in NY on some records and MI on others. Another child of Josiah & Sally was Mary E. and she was married to Ira Bush. Their son Herbert Bush(born 1861/62 in MI) was interested in the family genealogy and actually wrote a letter to the Natl Archives looking for information on his great grandfather Andrew Nichols Revolutionary War service.
