I just recently discovered who my grandfather's parents are after a search at the Records office on Tivoli St in Albany, NY. My grandfather was Frank Dennis Leahy, b 21 Jan 1885 in Troy, NY and d 10 Oct 1944 in Albany, NY who married Caroline J. Kirker b 3 Jul 1885 in Albany, NY and d 19 Oct 1952 in Albany, NY. They are both buried at St Agnes in Menands, NY. They were married 15 Nov 1904 in Albany, NY. According the the marriage information, Frank Dennis Leahy's parents were John F Leahy, born in Troy and Mary J Warren, born in Troy. Caroline Josephine Kirker's parents were Andrew W Kirker, born in Albany and Margaret McDonald, born in Albany. Frank Dennis and Caroline had 7 children, John Francis Leahy being my father.
John F Leahy and Mary J Warren had another son Herbert Henry Leahy. At some point after 1900 the family was living in Albany, NY in the Broadway area. Mary J Warren Leahy is not living with her husband and is listed on one census as divorced. She does remarry at some point between 1910 and 1920 and by 1930 is listed as a widow.
I did a search of the 1870 and 1880 Census and find several John F Leahy's or John Leahy's in Troy. The one interesting bit of information I did find was a Herbert Warner, wife Jane Warner and daughter Mary J Warner (maybe it could be Warren misspelled) living on 4th Ave in Troy just several houses away from Patrick Lahey, Mary his wife with children John F, Mary, Katie and Maggie.
I stopped at the Vital Records Office in Troy yesterday to request Frank Dennis Leahy's birth certificate hoping it might give me more information about John F Leahy and Mary J Warren, but it will take a week to find out if there is a record.
Just wondering if there is anybody with a connection to this family or with any additional information.
Thanks
