Anthony Woods and Virginia Du(not sure of the rest of her maiden name) probably married in Onondaga County, Liverpool, NY. They had 2 children possibly 4. Anthony b: July 1855, Liverpool. George b: Aug 1857. Possibly had twin daughters whom died either in New York, on the way to Michigan or in Michigan.
I can find no record of Anthony Sr but did find Virginia on the 1870 Census in Bay County, Bay City, Michigan. At that time she was married to a Frank Phoenix. Listed was a daughter for them named Virginia Phoenix whom later went by the name of Jennie. I know of two other children of this couple, Frank whom died about age 2 and Frankie a daughter whom married a Provo.
I can not find the marriage or deaths of this couple. Did Frank Phoenix and Virginia marry in New York then move to Michigan. Was the twin girls Frank's or Anthony Sr.
My other questions are: Did Anthony Sr enter the Union Army and died while at war? If so where was he buried? I can't find any records of a burial in New York.
Another question that come to my mind. Anthony and Virginia every live in or near Buffalo because my grandmother recieved a letter from an Anthony Woods who was the GRANDSON of Anthony Sr. I have a picture of George and Domithila Woods (My gr grandparents) another Grandson. Domithilda is wearing a picture broach. Can't enlarge it enough to see who it might be. Was told that the orginal large one was hanging in Buffalo. Also believe other grand children of Anthony Sr moved to Buffalo. I wonder why they picked Buffalo.
I was also told that the family worked on the Erie canal. It had to be Anthony Sr father if they helped build it because it was completed in 1825. But then he could have worked on the Erie Canal in some other capacity.
Thank you for any help that you can give me.
