I have checked every Oneida County genealogy record for the time period of 1855 to 1875. Even though you see the last name as Bloss it has never been indexed as that spelling. This family was indexed as Ploss. However, several other families have been indexed as Bloss. But you need to look closely at the writing of the first letter. My great grandfather, Curtis Ploss later changed it to Plass. I read and speak German. If I can't read the written German then I ask my cousin who speaks and writes fluent German. If my cousin is not available then I can take it to several people I know who work as German translators. Curtis and his brother, George L. Ploss, ended up in the St John's Orphanage in West Seneca, New York, in May 1865. So, I am searching for the rest of the families whereabouts. I have already gone through all the Erie County genealogy records. Thanks.
