I am trying to determine if there is a connection with the following Adams members:

Elisha Adams (1810-1888) married Caroline, daughter of John DeLamater & Zoe Eaton, and resided in Sullivan, Madison Co, NY, until the 1860s, when they sold the farm and moved into Syracuse. They are listed as the adapted parents of my ancestor, Catharine Ann Thompson, wife of Isaac R. Carhart; they may have been spiritual leaders.

My gt.grandfather made reference to a James Adams who married Catherine unknown. Catherine may have been previously married to a McDonald/MacDonald, and he states she married 3rd Abijah Thompson. Catherine and Abijah Thompson being the parents of Catharine. (I've found nothing to support this.)

Catharine was born ca 1824/5, married ca 1846, and died in 1847. She is listed as from North Manlius, in the Carhart Genealogy. I have found nothing on Abijah & Catherine Thompson.

A son of John & Zoe DeLamater, Anson, married Ann Alida Adams, daughter of James Adams of Lansingburgh. I found a reference to a James Adams, born Brunswick NY, married Catherine MacDonald. This James is listed as the son of Elisha Adams (1755-1834) and Alida Van Derhayden.

I am wondering if there is a connection between the above James Adams and Elisha Adams of Sullivan?
