I Spent the last two weeks helping at a Christian Youth Camp. On one of our evening walks we found three old grave stone on a dirt road off the main highway. One of the stones reads Abner Wood a native of Rhode Island and a Revolutionary Soilder who died Sept 22 1838 AE could be 80 or 90 years.
The other is Phebe Wood wife of Abner who died Aug 21st 1833 age 78 years.
The three stone is some kind of Memorial to Abner.
Location is Hubbardsville in Madison County NY.
They may be others graves for we found a few spots which looked like stones broken off. The area is wooded and the stone are hard to see from the road.
I would like to find out more about Abner and his family.Your help would be greatly appericated.
