There are probably photos at the watertown daily times archives and if you send to the Jefferson County Probate court they will send you the wills of both Fred and Alice.

I found in the 1910 census that fred and Alice lived in Adams (near ellisburg township)...along with Mable. It says he was 54 at the time.

Alice lists 1 child dead and none living. (that answers that question.

Census says they were both twice married.

States Alice was born in canada and her parents were born in Canada and England.

Alice emigrated to the USA in 1874 she was 38 on her last birthday.

Mable was born NY ..was seven years old...her father born NY her mother born Canada.

I can't quite make out the street. I think it says (? settlement road cobbville?) look here for location http://hasjny.tripod.com/

It says Alice and Fred were married 12 years.

1920 census shows him back in Ellisburg.
Shows fred and alice with a Green family member. I can't make out the first name. The guy named green was 60.

There's a bunch of Hess families in ellisburg in 1930 but it doesn't show fred or alice.
