Abner Pitcher was living in Henderson in 1818 when he applied for his pension, having served in the CT lines under Captain Benjamin Throop and then selected as one of the 100 men who formed General Washington's personal Life Guard. His wife, Abigail Walworth, was still with him, but their circumstances were difficult: his personal property had been reduced to "One cow, one hog, one axe, one table, chairs, 1 pot, tea-kettle, spider, pails, etc."
Would appreciate any information on the Pitcher family in Jefferson County.
