Looking for descendents of these families, or anyone with information, for Keech families who lived in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County, New York; or in Carthage or West Carthage or Township of Champion in Jefferson County. (Also any Keech's in Fisher's Landing, Brownville or Clayton- these three places all in Jefferson County, NYS also.)

I have a Milton Keech born about 1830-1835, died 1915 in Gouverneur who was married to Mary Dillenback/Dillenbach (1838-1896). Both are buried at Riverside Cemetery in Gouverneur. They had at least three children: George M. Keech born 1870, possibly in Gouverneur but 1880 census says he was born in Sweden (was he adopted?); Bernard Keech born 1873 and daughter Grace Keech born about 1873.

George M. Keech (1870-1912) married Lenora B. Boyden (1873-1941) daughter of C. Boyden and his wife Mahala Boyden all of Canton, St. Lawrence County. Lenora had at least one sibling- sister Maud Boyden born about 1876. Living next to Lenora and her family of origin on 1880 census in Canton were William and Dolly Boyden, ages 59 and 54, and one of their sons Leslie Boyden age 27, and Leslie's wife Mary S. age 26.

George's sister Grace Keech (who was born about 1873 and died in 1947) married, as far as I can tell from cemetery records, a W. H. Draper 1864-1850, whose first wife was Stella Matteson 1869-1895. Grace, W.H., and Stella all buried at Riverside Cemetery in Gouverneur.

George Keech and Lenora Boyden had four children that I know of: a daughter born in June 1896 who was either Grace Keech or Mary Keech, I believe it was Grace. The second daughter (either Mary or Grace) was born in early 1900's, possibly right around 1900. Daughter Elinor/Eleanor Keech was born March 31 1898 and died suddenly in 1922. In a news article about her death, her parents are referred to as "Henry and Lenor Boyden Keech".

The fourth child was a son Milton G. Keech (1902-1972) who is buried at Wilna in Jefferson County with two of his wives: Grace Johnson 1900-1957, and Mary M. 1900-1981. Was Milton G. married a first time in Gouverneur? At Riverside Cemetery is "Irene, wife of M. G. Keech, 1912-1934".

Milton G.'s sister Grace Keech married Ray or Jay SOULTS, and this surname may be mis-spelled, this is how it appears on 1930 census info for West Carthage Village in Jefferson County, NYS. Ray/Jay was an accountant at a power company. All three of Milton's sisters Grace, Mary and Eleanor, as well as his mother Lenora Boyden Keech were (registered) nurses.

Another family related to this Keech family (somehow) was the Fuller family. Milton Keech age 17 in 1920 was living in Wilna, Jefferson County with 48 year old Ainsworth Fuller and his wife Ella age 39(?). Milton was recorded as Ainsworth's nephew. Recorded immed. next door (?) was another Draper family- Albert and Loretta ages 52 and (39?), children Charles, Leo and Grace Draper.

Anyone with info please contact me. I am interested in tying this Keech family to others we have researched and finding out who Milton Keech's (1830-1915) parents/siblings were.

Thanks from Nora Keech McLean
