Any information that any has about the Kellogg family whose members are below would be greatly appreciated (Generally beginning with Elijah, JR). Also info about Great Bend Cemetery which I understand is now on Ft. Drum property would be helpful. Specifically, my family is Elija Sr and Jr., Lewis Levi, Charles, Earnest and Carlton (my Father). 10.        "Elijah Kellogg (Jr)" (b. Sept 29, 1797 and d. Apr 5, 1886, buried at Hillside Cemetery in Antwerp, NY) {The death is according to obit notice on the St Lawrence County website: It stated he lived 88 yrs, 6 mo and 6 days and died in Antwerp NY). On March 12, 1819 he married Tamar Palmer (Clifton Park NY, Mar. 17, 1802 and d. in Antwerp in 1890, buried Hillside Cem): She was the dau of Joshua Palmer and Rosanna Barton.

Sept. 1828), dau. of Dr. Chester Smedley MD (b. 17 Feb. 1783) and Clarissa Landon, (b. June 3, 1790), of Hastings. She d. July 13, 1867; he m. (2) Eliza Ann (Jackson) Smith (widow of Don Carlos Smith) (b. in Pamela, NY 21 Nov. 1824) in Syracuse, N.Y. on Mar.24, 1869, dau. of Willard Jackson, (b. Dec. 31, 1795), and Elizabeth Caswell, (b. June 7, 1801/ Syracuse, Onondaga, NY). He was a farmer ( res. in Brewerton, NY), a member of the Disciples Church and a Republican.

2.       William Riley Kellogg (born in Milton, NY June 20, 1822/3 – d. Jan 11, 1903, buried Hillside Cem. In Antwerp), m. (1) Nancy Carpenter, (b. Mar. 14 1826/8- d. June 24, 1873, buried at Hillside Cemetery in Antwerp), in Antwerp N.Y. Nov., 1847, dau. of William Carpenter, (b. in 'Antwerp, 21 April, 1792) and Margaret Sumner (b. Sept. 5, 1794).; William Riley m. (2) Mary (Demarest) Smith, (b. June 6, 1830 and d. 1903, buried at Hillside Cemetery in Antwerp) in Philadelphia, Pa. (NY?) She was the widow of Marcus Smith and dau of David Demarest (b. Nov. 3, 1780) and Mary Van Vrauken (b 17 Sept. 1788), He was a farmer in Antwerp.

·       John Thomas, (b. July 24, 1849/50 and d. 1940, buried at Hillside Cemetery in Antwerp), married Jennie Gates. (b. in Antwerp on Apr 20, 1854 and d. 1925, buried at Hillside Cem. In Antwerp), dau. of William Robert Gates, (b. Dec. 25, 1801) and Eunice Faucette Lynde (b. Sept.25, 1810). He was a farmer, a Congregationalist and a Democrat; residence in Antwerp, NY. (They had three dau and a son)
·       Theresa, (b. Apr. 29, 1852, d. Jan. 29, 1855, buried at Hillside Cemetery in Antwerp).
·       Emogene, (b. 22 Sept 1855), m. Daniel James Westwood (b. Feb. 10, 1850) in Antwerp on June, 3, 1892, son of Edward Westwood, (b. in Bristol England, May 3 1810) and Ann Johnson (b. in the North of Ireland 1819); he is a farmer, had no children.
·       Nellie, (b. Oct. 28, 1859, died. Sept. 28, 1862, buried at Hillside Cemetery in Antwept).

3.       Adeline Kellogg (April 1826 – Apr 5, 1833, buried at Hillside 0 Cem. In Antwerp); 8-years old.

4.       Caroline Kellogg (born and died in Antwerp, St Lawrence in 1833 – d. Dec 20, 1833, buried at Hillside 0 Cem. In Antwerp); 4-months old.

5.       Lewis Elijah Kellogg (Antwerp October 18, 1835 – October 23, 1920). m. (Dec 25, 1859) Ann Ryder, Dau of Walter and Clarissa Ingalls Rider (Ryder)

6.       Angeline Kellogg (Antwerp April 10, 1840) On May 13, 1860 married George P. Coolidge. (b. in Antwerp, Nov 10, 1840 - d. in Antwerp, Nov. 21, 1897), son of Charles Coolidge and Abi Kirkbride, of Philadelphia, PA. He was a graduate of the Genesee Seminary; was a Republican. At the time of his death they had about four hundred acres of land; had a nice track on one of his farms and was a enthusiastic horseman.

·       Lizzie Marie Coolidge, (b. Sept. 22, 1862 - d. Nov. 29, 1894) m. David J.Taylor in Antwerp on Dec. 3, 1885, res. in Antwerp. David J was the son of Alonzo H. Taylor (b. near Hartford, Conn., January 2, 1816, and came with his parents to Antwerp, NY., locating at Ox Bow, when four years old. In 1855 Alonzo married Mary A. Laidlow, of this town, and they had five children, namely: Nancy B., Andrew S., David J., Elizabeth A., and Jane. David J. received a common school education and is now engaged in farming. December 3, 1885, he married Lizzie M., daughter of George P. Coolidge, of Antwerp, and Lizzie and David J. had two children, Mable E. and Florence M.

1.       "Charles Kellogg" (b. May 15, 1863 –d. 1937, buried at Hillside Cemetery in Antwerp), m. Alice Marie North (b. 1861 and d. 1936, buried at Hillside Cemetery in Antwerp) dau of Levi North (b. Oct 23, 1837 and d. Apr 28, 1922) and Nancy Hall (b. Feb 21, 1834 –d. May 1888). Levi’s mother’s name was Sarah Worley (b. Dec. 7, 1816 and d. Jan 8, 1893) and his father, Lymon (b. July 15, 1812 and d. Mar. 4, 1895) There were eleven children in Lymon’s family). Levi and Nancy also had Mary Rachal North Downy (b. May 5, 1869, (her child was born, I think 1/18/1903) and Eugene Copley North (b. Dec. 31, 1876 and d. Dec 30, 1959).

May 16, 1888 and d. 1964, buried at Hillside Cemetery in Antwerp). Ethel m. (2) Charles Rogers after Corydon died).

He lived in Sterlingville where he delivered mail and owned a small hotel. He left Sterlingville and moved to Mexico, NY where he served as postmaster and Mayor. He is buried in Philadelphia, NY.

5.       "Ernest Leslie" (b. July 24, 1890 and d. February 28, 1947-buried Great Bend Cemetery: m. (Dec. 8, 1915) Eva Josephine Alexander (b. in Sterlingville NY on July 21, 1894 - d. October 30, 1943 at Hepburn hospital (Ogdensburg) of breast cancer; buried at Great Bend Cemetery) (Dau. of George and Gertrude Tomlinson (Wright) Alexander (b. Canada and d. Feb 23, 1936). Gertrude was apparently born a Tomlinson but lived with another family as a youth). Ernest died at the Community Hospital/taken to the Ullman and Bossuot Funeral Parlar. Ernest and Eva lived at - 715 Alexandria Street -Carthage NY and attended Grace Episcopal Church – Ernest worked for the City of Carthage at the time of his death (Obit says “a driver of village vehicles”). During his life he operated various heavy machinery (i.e. ice-saws), served as a policeman and fireman- which helped the family struggle through the Depression era. Eva had a brother Leslie Harold Alexander- 144 South Clinton Street –Carthage and three sisters: Mrs. George ‘Lillian’ Piper (Redwood), Mrs. Roland ‘Ethel’ Skinner (Carthage) and Mrs. John 'Grayce' Mahaffy [(b. Apr 30, 1904-Sterlingville; d. Jan 17, 1989 in Boonville, NY) (Grayce m. John T. Mahaffy on April 14, 1924 and lived in Boonville, NY since 1932): They had: John David Mahaffy, Charles A. Mahaffy (Postmaster in Boonville), Richard J. (Dick) (Barber in Boonville) and Mary Jane (Richard) Ulrich (Boonville)]

6.       Maude Leah Kellogg Boman (b. April 9, 1892 and d. March 6, 1963). m. Frank Boman

7.       Raymond R. Kellogg (b. 1895 –January 26, 1902) Pneumonia at 6 yrs.

8.       Annabelle Frieda Kellogg (Sibley) (b. Dec. 15, 1896 and d. March 29, 1968); m. Jesse Sibley. Had one son: Roger (d. 1920)

2.       Larry R. Kellogg (Dane-Kellogg) (b. Ft George Meade (Laurel, Anne Arrundel Co.) Md. On December 14, 1949); m. May 29, 1983 in (Flushing) Queens NY. Joan (Joanie) Dane (b. January 5, 1957 in Brooklyn, NY) dau. of Fabian Dane(man) and Sylvia Finkelstein. Larry's father was in the U.S. Army. Larry grew up traveling with his parents and siblings. He lived in Stuttgart, Germany from 1952 to 1955, in Augusta, Georgia from 1955 to 1960, in Stuttgart Germany from 1960 to 1963, Augusta, GA from 1963-1968. He graduated from Academy of Richmond County (Augusta, GA) in 1968 and entered the U.S. Air Force that same year. He served the first two years as an aircraft firefighter and the last two as an administrator. He went to Viet Nam during the conflict (Oct 1971 to July 1972). He returned to Augusta, GA were her graduated from Augusta College in 1975 with a BA degree in Sociology and Psychology. Two years later he moved to Athens, GA and entered graduate school where he received his Master's degree in Social Work in 1981. In 1987 He moved to Savannah, Georgia. Both Larry and Joanie are clinical social workers/psychotherapists.
