This is a long shot but it's worth a try. My GGGrandfather, Phillip "Hart" Jewell, b1811 somewhere in NY married Eunice (b abt 1815) also from somewhere in NY, and I can't find their families. It has been suggested that Phillip's mother may have been a HART. The Jewell family were traditionally farmers. Just maybe they came from Jefferson County. Phillip and Eunice were in Michigan in 1832 when their first son was born and in So. Dakota in the 1860 and 70's census. Their adult children were listed in the 1890 Washington State, Clark Co. census. Can anyone help solve this puzzle. If so, please respond to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks for at least reading this. Irene in Calif.
