HARRY KRAFT, Lumber & Bldg. Materials, Hancock, NY
I am looking for anyone connected to this Company, which was in business at least in the late 20's and early 30's.
My father (Herbert Keel) worked for Harry when they were building the school in Hancock.
This is when my father met my mother (Florence Shaffer), a local.
I also have several personal letters, with the company letterhead, that were written to Florence Shaffer. These were signed by a 'Lu', or it could be 'Lee'. This woman appears to be a friend of my mothers and was keeping her up on the news in Hancock while mother worked in Binghamton (in 1929 and 1930, before my parents met).
The return address on most of these letters is:
One of the envelopes has the Company address crossed out and the above address is written in below it.
I am trying to find out who this Lu/Lee is, to see if her family may have copies of letters that my mother wrote to her.
I would love to share.
These letters are fascinating!
