Greetings,
I'm looking for connections with and information regarding Paul JAMES, his son Sheffield JAMES and any descendents from these men. Briefly, it is believed Paul JAMES was in Cortland Co.(Truxton) on the 1830 census living with his son Sheffield and family.
Sheffield was married to Judith CARD and they were parents of:
Joseph b abt 1813 probably in Rhode Island married Emerette/Elizabeth HOWE in New York (the first 5 of their children list New York as their place of birth)and moved to McHenry Co. Illinois about 1844.

Sheffield L. b about 1815 probably in Rhode Island married a Mary E./Marrett(unknown) and moved to Beloit, Rock Co., Wisconsin

Newbury only know his death date as 1846 in Kane Co., Illinois

Washington b 22 May 1820 in New York moved to Wisconsin and Married Cordelia Macklen and following her deaath married her sister Frances. Died 26 May 1901.

Mason b Feb. 1823 in New York Married Elizabeth MEADE in Kane Co., Illinois and died 20 Jan 1859 in Kane Co., Illinois


Avery b about 1824 in New York believed to be the only son to stay in New York

Emily b.about 1830 in New York married A. Filmore

Cordelia b. about 1832 in New York married Jardin Golly

Christiana b. about 1838 in New York married a Mr. Wood

ELiza Ann b. 1827 d Oct.1835

John b 1828 d. Sept.1835

Paul and Mary JAMES, Sheffield and Judith (CARD) JAMES as well as the two children Eliza Ann and John are buried in Tully Cemetery Tully, Onondaga Co., New York.
