Here he is in the 1940 census.

1940
Hannibal, Marion, Missouri
Thomas F King 48
Mary J King 48
Owen Purvis 32
Van Berge Briggs 51, married, lodger, born about 1889 in Missouri
Residence in 1935 (Van Berge): Same Place (A question on the 1940 census)

I was puzzled by your sentence "I may be unable to locate him." Perhaps a specific record you would like to have is missing from the long list of records Thomas K provided? Just thought you should know volunteers may very willing to help but may be unclear what it is you now seek.

I hope in future you won't need to reply "Some of the information I have." Instead, if you have past findings or new discoveries relevant to the hunt, post them in the thread. If you leave out something inadvertently - well that can happen, sure. It is not required, though, to explain your lapse to someone who worked hard to find that piece for you. I hope you don't mind me guiding you (respectfully) toward an interaction that would be a more appropriate response to a gift, in this case a gift from Thomas K (his time and skill).

Thanks!
