The 1865 Norwegian census shows 3 men with names like "Melkjer Jakobsen" (allowing for the expected spelling variations of course). One of those three is unmarried in 1865 and living on a farm called "Indre Skjervø" in Roan with his widowed mother and a number of siblings.

Roan is/was a parish within the district of Bjørnør, Sør-Trøndelag. Parish church records would either be found lised under Roan or Bjørnør. I have never heard of any bygdebok ever written that included the area of Roan but there was a "Bjornorfolket: gards- ob slektshistorie for Bjørnør", 2 volumes by Sigurd Brattgjerd that someone may have knowledge of what was included.

The 1865 census indicates a couple of farms called "Vingsand" in Osen parish of Bjørnør. Perhaps the family residence of his mother?
