I think I can help you a little, Bev. In fact, I know I can help you a great deal.

My earliest records of the Nohr family dates from 1859.

Bertha Christine Marie Nohr was born in February, 1859, to Hermann and Henriette (nee Natzke). August Nohr was one of the sponsors at Bertha's baptism.

Friedrich Wilhelm August Nohr was born in June, 1860, again to Hermann and Henriette. Wilhelm Nohr and Wilhelmine Nohr were sponsors for that baptism.

Wilhelm Heinrich Nicolaus Nohr was then born in September, 1862, to the same couple.

I could go on. They had quite a few children, but these are the oldest (that I am aware of anyway).

I have a Michael Friedrich Nohr having passed away in August, 1880. I don't know if this was a child, or the father, since no age was indicated.

Maria Nohr (b. March, 1842) died in Nov. 1892 of cancer. She is buried in Brown County too.

I can share more details if you'd like. Please just let me know. You can email me at USALiebherr@aol.com

I believe the draw to Brown county was Herman and his growing family. If you'd like the town, cemetery, etc., just let me know. I have a lot more detail than I've listed here (in some instances). Herman married into a prominent family in that area, an established family with lots of influence.

Hope this is the information you are looking for, to aid you in your research.
