I was born and raised in the city of Espanola, situated on the extreme southern edge of Rio Arriba county. This much I can tell you concerning the name Maestas - back when I lived there, the phone book was listed as A - Ma, Maestas, Martinez - Z. In other words, if you are looking for Maestas in Rio Arriba Co. you're going to have to be more specific. 1 in 5 people is either a Maestas or a Martinez.
