I am trying to find information on Alma Ruth Woods who is listed as beneficiaty on my late father-in-law's WW11 army pension as half-sister address 01 Sep 1942 Mayhill NM. The only details are what was on this document as no-one else in the family has any memories or documents mentioning her. He had 8 siblings and his father all in NM (around Weed, Mayhill, Cloudcroft) at the time. Their name was BRASSFIELD and they were itinerant loggers from Oklahoma who eventually settled in Ca and Idaho. Even my mother-in-law knows nothing about Alma Ruth so we have no idea of her age or if Woods was her mother's name or her married name.
My father-in-law Elbert Riley ("Riley") Brassfield returned from the Pacific in Jan 1942 and day before Thanksgiving was killed in logging accident near Artesia. His pregnant wife and young daughter returned to her hometown of Pueblo Co where my husband was born.
Elbert's father William Riley (Bill)Brassfield was born in 1870 and Riley and his siblings' mother 1892. She died 1930. They were married 1908 in Ok. Alma may have been born before or after - or during (as details of Bill's life make that quite possible) his marriage to Pearl Rearick.

Does anyone know anything about Alma Ruth please. Since we got this army document four years ago it has been a real mystery to us and we'd love to find more about her and her family.
