Hi Joe! This is very interesting MYERS ... I am a decendant from MYERS/NEWLAND maybe you could help me with my brick walls on both these lines below you will find my MYERS/NEWLANDs Living in Ross/Highland/Fayette Counties in Ohio and possibly also in Scioto county, I have not traced them back to any other state at the present. I am looking for parents, brothers, sisters, dob, dod, when where or as far back as anyone can take me on these lines. Geneva [Ginny/Jenny/Jennie] m. ? date #1. Charles MERRIMAN. Children: Rose Emma b. 1884 m. Claude McCOY, Homer Eugene b. 1893 m. #1. Hazel SANDERSON, #2. Goldie Hazel ATKINSON, Luther b. 1901 m. #1. Inez JONES & #2. Kate ? (last known residence for Luther TX), Lewis b. 1888 m. Stella RHOADS, William, Miles, & Floyd (no information on those 3 at the present time. Jennie m. 2 May 1902 #2. No definite proof these are their children other then these were the names written on a sheet of paper found in an old yellowed envelope found in my G-grandmother's bible as being Ginny's brothers and sisters, I have marriage affidavit for Hovender & Elizabeth, Hovender signed for her to marry not parents, I also have probate court record of birth of James, marriage affidavit of Newton MYERS, and marriage affidavit of Jennie & Thomas MUSSELMAN naming Hovender MYERS & Elizabeth NEWLAND as their parents. Census found recently pretty sure this is Hovender though the name is spelled Govendon MYERS 1870 Census Paxton Twp, Ross Co. MYERS, Govendon 36 Farmer 200/250 OH Elizabeth 35 OH Nancy 13 OH Joseph 11 OH Mary 10 OH Ellen 8 OH Neva 6 OH Newton 4 OH Edward 5/12 M OH I found a marriage affidavit for Newton MYERS (age 38) b. abt 1868 & Etta FORD (age 19) b. abt. 1888 m. 15 May 1907, Ross Co., Ohio s/o Hovender MYERS & Lizzie Newland ... Etta's parents Thomas FORD & Jane TILLETT. James MYERS b. 19 Mar. 1877 Paxton twp. Ross Co. Birth record parents Havender MYERS & Elizabeth NEWLAN. I am calculating birth of Elizabeth from marriage affidavit to Hovender as her being 18 years of age.
