I'm seeking information on a Henry Brown possibly living in Kearney, Nebraska, around 1890. He and his wife Alice (Baker) were listed in the 1880 census for Odessa, Buffalo County. My grandmother Birdie was born to them in 1882 in Kearney (she said in later years).
Alice Baker Brown died in 1886 and Birdie was put up for adoption by her father Henry. Birdie had older siblings Fred and Ada. I believe Fred, at least, remained with the father.
Any material on any members of this family would be greatly appreciated. My family history on this particular line is sketchy at bests, as my grandmother was adopted twice more during her young years. She eventually married, to a Calhoun, whose line I've traced back to 12th-century Scotland.
