Hi Shelley,

Many thanks for that.

We have met this family before because I have Edward F Rossiter and Edward G Rossiter in my database with roughly the same details.Your posting also lists Edward Y Rossiter which probably refers to the same person.

I have Edward's parents as Edward J Rossiter born circa 1820 and Harriet Stansfield. His birthplace is given as Connecticut or New York and his parents are reported to be from Rhode Island.

The 1880 US Census in your posting lists Edward and Harriett living in Utah and I have found an 1896 Utah death record for Edward J Rossiter born circa 1820 in New York.

If the 1880 US Census is correct then the parents of Edward Rossiter born 1820 come from Rhode Island.

As for Edward F/G/Y Rossiter evidence suggests he was born circa 1874 in Nevada ( not Nebraska) and circa 1894 married Emma ? by whom he had two children, Harriet born May 1896 in Indiana and Dorothy S Rossiter born February 1898.

The question is which Rhode Island Rossiters are the parents of Edward born 1820 in New York?

The death record says they are Edward and Sarah Rossiter but lists their nationality as American rather than give a birthplace.

Just wondering now if there is enough information here to track down Edward & Sarah Rossiter. What do you think?

Best wishes, Kevin
