Thank you for your response, Leah. I can give you some more details to work with. According to the 1890-91 Douglas County Bus Dir for South Omaha: Christ(Ella, JW's sister)& Lowry (James W, my grandfather) are proprietors of the Delmonico Hotel 2629 N Street. I have an old plat for the Stockyards District which shows the lot, and I have pictures of a building which is still standing @ the site which I believe to be the old hotel, but I haven't been able to confirm my "guess". If you would like to forward an e-mail address, I will send you these documents and perhaps you could help me support my research. I would appreciate any help you could give me. My Lowry's came into Omaha in the late 1860's from Iowa. They arrived in New Orleans from Ireland about 1850. My Sikes family are proud Tennessee mountain folks from around 1800 by way of NC and Virginia from the early 1600's.
