Hi: Just updating my posts I found that my grgrUncle John McQuarrie(found in census as McQuary) was in 1860 living in Douglas ,Nebraska Terr. He is married to Matilda BROWN who was born in Nova Scotia. They have a daughter by name of Elexa who seemed to have a child between leaving Can.1850? to showing up in Douglas 1860.Matilda A. GILBRETH? b.Iowa. Elexa seems to be married now to a Stephen TUTTLE in 1860 one child Mary A TUTTLE.In 1870 they have added to the family with Martha A 9,Stephen 7,They are living in Cuming,Wash Co.,Ne.The same census I find JOhn and Matilda still alive living Cuming,Wash Co.,Ne.With them and going to school is Matilda A now 15 according to census. In 1880 john and Matilda still alive they are in Cuming City,Wash.Co.,Ne. with them is John Tuttle 8yrs old; and an older man as farm hand. In 1900 census John(recorded as grandfather) is alive and living with a Henry S TUTTLE whose wife is something Rosa. They are in Burt,Silver CReek Dist 28. Matilda A Fleming also with them recorded as halfsister her position as servant.Looks as though she married is she helping with grandfather?Matilda the grandmother looks to be deceased. Thanks in advance for any help Sue P |
