From your post, assuming your ancestors married women about thei rown age and had children when they were 20 - 40, I got:

Patricia Joan Morton - b. 1920

Charles Walton Jr., m. Mildred Penick
(both b. 1880 - 1920)

Charles Walton Morton Sr. m. Sarah Turner
(both b. born 1840 - 1900)

In the census index I found

1930, Cambridge, Middlesex, MA
Chase W Morton 31 Head
Mildred Morton 31 Wife
Patrica Morton 9 Daughter
Cynthia Morton 3 Daughter

so Charles Jr. ws born abt 1899. Back to the census.

1900, Omaha Ward 7, Douglas, Nebraska

Morton, Charles, head, July 1855, NY, England, England
----, Sarah P., wife, *** 1858, Illinois, England, M***
[Birth month might be apr, might not; MBP is Missouri or Maine]
----, Dorothy, dau., Nov. 1895, Neb, NY, Ill
----, Charles W., son, Feb 1898, Neb, NY, Ill
Whitney, Margaret, step-dau., Apr. 1886, Conn, Conn, Ill
Larsen, Lena, servant, Jun 1875, Ger, Ger, Ger
Anderson, Ida, Nurse Girl, May 1878, MO, Swe, Swe

So Charles Sr. was b. 1855.

[W.P.R.R. is probably Western Pacific Rail Road]

There are too many Charles Mortons in the 1870 to look at over a dial-up.

At least now you have some birth year estimates and counties.

There are 4 or 5 Sarah Whitneys on the LDS 1880 who might be yours.
