I am trying to verify that Susannah Brooks married Stephen Chedester in 1807 in Raleigh, Wake, N.C. Does anyone know if any Brooks or Chedester families lived in the county in 1800-1810 time frame? I know for sure Susannah and Stephen's oldest son was born in N.C. in 1810, but I don't know what county. If anyone could tell me where to find tax lists for the county, I'd be very grateful.
