Nancy Roberson, b. ca. 1839/40, was living in the household of John "Robinson", 60, in McDowell Co. in 1850, but was not necessarily a daughter (if she was, Noah Jolly would have apparently married his aunt). It is possible that she was living with her grandparents in 1850 and was a daughter of Drury Roberson, who first married in 1833 Jane Harris. Jane died about 1838/40 and Drury remarried in 1840 Elizabeth Hill. This would make Noah and Nancy first cousins.
I feel fairly confident that Drury was a son of John Roberson. In 1850 he was in McDowell Co. as Drury Robinson, age 35, farmer, $75 real estate, living next to John Robinson, 60, likely his father. He appears on the 1860 Census of Rutherford Co as Drury Robeson, aged 48, with $1350 real estate. Of Chimney Rock twp., Rutherford Co. in 1870 (which shows Drury as 57 and Elizabeth as 65). There in 1880 ("Drewery Roberson", p. 582), aged 78. The 1870 Census shows a Marinda Robertson, 87, nearby in household of Noah and Nancy Jolley. She is likely the "Maneme" Robinson, b ca. 1787/8 in the household of John Robinson in McDowell 1850 - but I don't find her in 1860.
The Census suggests that John Roberson had a number of children born between 1816 and 1830 who were not at home in 1850 and whose names are not known. Likely children include Rosa Malinda (abt. 1810), Drury (abt. 1813), John (abt. 1816), Alfred (1830), and Henry (abt. 1833/4).
As to Luke Roberson: Luke Robinson (sic) mar. first bond Rutherford 1 Nov. 1805 Drusilla Green (John Robinson bondsman) and second 11 Nov 1817 Judith Burge, Joseph Green bondsman. Judith Burge was daughter of Woodrow Burge and Judith (Davis) and was apparently was born in 1787 and died by 1821. Luke is in Rutherford on 1810 Census. A Rev. Luke Robertson was performing marriages in Newton Co., GA in 1823-4 and was there on the 1840 Census. Luke may be the father of Sarah Robertson, b. ca. 1819, who mar. in Rutherford in 1840 Azariah Frady and named her first son Luke R. Frady.
