Can anyone tell me about the George Slaughter that was Bondsman for my EDMUND BAKER + SALEY THORN m in Richmond Co NC in 1800 ??? I have been trying for almost 10 years to connect Saley to one of the Thorn families in the area. Can anyone help ?

This Edmund is believed to be a son of Absalom Baker who went into Tenn, Ky, then Illinois (Gallatin then Madison)
There were other Thorn's in the same area of Illinois at the same time that seemed to have a connection to the Baker's. (This SHOULD be a part of the Maurice Baker line of MD by the way)
Edmund shows up in Gallatin Co Ill (1813) as road supervisor to land owned by Absalom. He has 4 kids but a 2nd wife (Elizabeth Unknown b 1793 Tenn) These first for kids are from Salley.

ANY thoughts are greatly appreciated.

THANKS!
Steve
