Yes, went there in 2000 with husband, Walt. I am descended from James Terry LeGrand of Rockingham, NC. He is son of James LeGrand who lived in large plantation home on PeeDee River site (which the State now owns). He was married to a Baldwin. House has been torn down, numbered pieces, and moved to somewhere in S.C.. I have not found out who bought it or who is living in it, yet. Mangumn is small crossroad village in that area in top of Richmond Co.,NC. Cemetery is across road where house was located. A Hunting Club (skeet) owns the property and uses small brick house near road for meetings. They were interested that we were kin and agreed to let us clean. There is a wonderful iron fence around it. We just stopped at a nearby house and asked where it was. Do not know name of road, but seems to be local highway going to Siler City from Hamlet, NC where my Grandmother May Legrand Land lived (and I was named for her as the eldest granddaughter). Email me at mrsleg@aol.com if you and are kin!!!MLGP
