Virgil, It IS confusing! Big 1700s families. I may have errors. But I will be glad to share what I have.
I concur an ABRAHAM (son of WILLIAM and Elizabeth Jay) marries Rebecca Caroline Floyd 1800.
I have this ABRAHAM's birth 9/30/1783 (not 1763), in Caswell (later Person) County. [The CH in Yanceyville may have land info on early HARGIS.] I list four ABRAHAMs and five WILLIAMs in 1700s Caswell/Person Co. Apparently they came from Charles Co., MD, some then via Fairfax Co., VA. Do you attend "Country Cousins" monthly gatherings in Roxboro at Golden Corral? [Last Wednesday each month.]

This may need correction -- I think that 3 successive ABRAHAMs -- Sr., Jr., and III -- married (in order) Elizabeth Nalley, Elizabeth Kilgore, and Elizabeth Kilpatrick. Old ABRAHAM Sr. b. 1/7/1707 Charles Co., MD, according to 2/2006 post on VAN HOOK GenForum. His son ABRAHAM LEA(?!), Jr. b. bef 1755 Fairfax Co., VA. I found HARGIS GenForum posts by Nathan Lourance and John Fox, and added personal research.
