Do you have any birth, marriage, or death dates to compare? Whom did they marry?

One problem with your Maddins being the Maddens of Orange Co., NC, is that George Madden was listed in the 1790 census for Orange Co. He also witnessed a transfer of land in 1796 and was listed again in the 1800 Orange Co. census. So the "NC George" could not have been living in Virginia during the time you say he was listed there, so there must have been a George Maddin and a George Madden--two distinct individuals.

Were your Maddins quakers? The Geo. Madden I have listed migrated in 1811 and registered at the Centre Monthly Meeting in Clinton Co., Ohio.

Alexander Madden was born abt 1781 in NC. He moved to Jackson/Putnam Co., TN, before 1820. He married Patsey James and Martha ?. I need further information on his children.
