Hopefully someone can help with the following:

William and Adalet (Burton) Wilson
Children:
1) Damerious Ann Wilson (called Ann) - Born approx. 1858. Married Sam Dixon of ?Halifax VA, -- Ann and Sam lived in Danville, VA
2) John Wilson - Born approx. 1863. Married Leanah Hall of Halifax VA and America Hall of Halifax - (They were sisters) -- Lived in Halifax and Charlotte Co VA. America's first marriage was to Robert D. Williams of Pittsylvania, VA
3)Thomas Wilson - Married Annie Terrell of NC.

John is my great grandfather. His death certificate has that he was born in Person Co., NC. His father William died either during the Civil War of soon thereafter. Apparantly Adalet was unable to care for the children. In 1870 John was adopted (bonded) to Silas Hopkins of Orange Co., NC. According to my grandfather (John's son)Silas, Rowan, and John lived in the Hurdle's Mill area at some point.

Have been told the other children also went to other homes. I know in 1870 Adalet is living with her Aunt Catherine (Porterfield) Ray as a domestic servent. Ann is not anywhere near on the census. Ann's grandchildren were told that she grew up in the "Bayne's Store" area in NC. After marrying Sam Dixon they lived in the Danville area. We believe that John may have come to VA in the late 1870's or early 1880's and lived in the area of Ann.

I would appreciate any help on any of the names listed.
