I am descended from William Courtney, described as "prominent Quaker". He was owner of a tavern (an inn) in Hillsborough, Orange Co., NC. built in 1768 and is now known as "the yellow house". His daughter,
Elizabeth(Betsy) married a James Christmas.
Did the Quakers keep any genealogical records? Marypat
