Vikky again...About the Burks and Wilburns..
I cannot give you anything definate...some of this info was send to me and I added to my database, with a few notes...I do know that I received some info that claimed that Nancy Burk (b. circa 1795) was married to a Wilburn and that three of their children were: John Permilla and Willis Wilburn and that Willis Wilburn of Cumberland KY later relocated to ILL.

I suspect that Samuel Wilburn who also lived in Cumberland Co KY was the grandfather of this set of Wilburns...(Process of elimination is my thinking here)...Samuel was NOT a son of Edward Wilburn that I referred too, in my earlier posting to you. However, both Samuel and Thomas Wilburn were the oldest two Wilburns who first settled into Cumberland co KY....One settled in the north area and the other in the southern area....They may not have known each other....

Now it appears to me that this Samuel of Cumberland, Co KY was one of the sons of Thomas Welborn (b. circa 1733) and his wife Esther of Guliford Co NC. Thomas left a will and this makes it a bit easier in identifing his descendants since they had names such as Celeb and Joshua vs the usual Thomas and Robert given names...

The problem is that much info that I have has come to me in bits and pieces and I then try to make some sense of descendancy lines... so Please keep in mind, some of my findings are verified but that some of my personal conclusions are based upon thin threads that appear to show relationships/kinships of some sort.

I suspect that if you have a Welborn Burk with roots in Guilford, NC that this would be some tie in with Thomas Welborn of Guliford NC...Just a hunch.
