Eleanor,

This is from the transplanted Tarheel from RT CT, NC, Pat. I am a Mayflower descendant through this family of Jonas Bedford via his wife Mercy Raymond. Their line also married into the Doggett sisters' lines, my ancestors, granddaughters of Rev. Benjamin Doggett the immigrant: Sarah Ann and Mary Mollie Doggett from Lancaster County, VA>Bedford County, VA>Orange County, NC>Rutherford County, NC.

I knew that I had seen the name William Byars and Henrietta Byars. Can we prove the parents of Henrietta now? Is she a sister to William?

I am also a Hollifield-Padgett descendant from the same area as 3 brothers married 3 sisters: William Padgett m. Minerva/Minima Hollifield, Edmund Padgett m. Susannah Louranie Hollifield, and Rev. John Padgett m. #1 Celia/Cecelia Hollifield, known parents of Nehemiah Padgett who left RT CT, NC back to SC>TN>AL. There was a time that these families were in SC before RT CT, NC, and earlier in Surry County, NC, before the Rev. War.

I can't prove that your Lydia Padgett was d/o of Rev. John and Celia; however, they were in Camden District, Chester County, SC, in 1790 Census so you can see there were females in the family seen in 1800 in RT CT, NC. There are also several children yet unnamed in my Edmund-S.Lou Padgett line. It is possible that my Lou had a sister or child living with her when she married Edmund as Edmund was younger and could not be the father of the female.

Let me know your thoughts here.
