You may be correct, but check your sources and dates. There were two similar Morton families in Onslow Co. at the 1850 census:

Jacob Morton wife Phebe (Pheby) Kellam (Kellum)
Their children:
Julitty 19
William 19
Gaston 16
Easter 14
Jacob 13
Sharlott 12
Isaac 11
Rbecca 11
Ursaline 10
Edward 8
Melissa 6
Susan 3
Born after 1850 census:
Phoebe Caroline 5
Amy 10 months

Then there was
West Morton W. Rachel Henderson
Stephen 17
Brancy 16
Charlotte 13
Susan Ann 11
Ruthy Jane 9
John B. 7
Wesley Edward 5 (sometimes his name is reversed to Edward W.)
Adeline 1
In 1870 census are:
Sylvester 13
Harriett 11

Wesley Edward is sometimes refered to as Edward. And I think his name was really Westley. Sorry if this confuses you but I am having the same confusion because I am descended from Sharlott or Charlotte.
