Dear Ken,

I have found out that James Hoffman/Huffman died in 1814. So, William was not the son of James.

I have found out that William was the son of Christopher Huffman, Jr. Hannah Piety and Isaac Hill Huffman were cousins.

It was not uncommon for cousins to marry. At least Hannah Piety and Isaac Hill were not first cousins. My great-grandparents were first cousins on the Jarman side of the family. William Robert Huffman (son of Lucinda Jarman Huffman) and Lila Jarman (daughter of Oliver L. Jarman). Lucinda and Oliver were siblings.

I found out that William Huffman was the brother of Asa Huffman who moved to Sabine, TX. Asa had a son by the name Eddy Pybus Huffman. Christopher Jr.'s wife was Mary Pybus. William and Asa were sons of Christopher and Mary.

At the present moment, I have no names of Huffman soldiers in the Civil War. Sorry about that.

If I find any info on Huffman in the Civil War I will either email you or post it to you.

Bryan
