April Court 1780, Nash Co NC (William Baker and James Baker, security)
Rebecca Sealy came into Court paid her fine required by law for a female bastard child and gave Wm and James Baker sec. For keeping the parish harmless of charge respecting the maintenance of sd. Child. (Illegitimate Children and Their Parents Mentioned in Nash County Court Minutes1787 to 1835, Nash County, NCGenWeb)

William Baker, Jr., of Nash Co NC was born in 1757, about 23 years old in 1780; James Baker owned land very close to the land of William Baker, Sr., and Joseph Sealy, having received a grant in 1779, ordered on 2 Feb 1779, recorded on 10 Nov 1779. William Baker, Jr., did not marry until 1788 when he married Bulah Bottoms.

Rebecca Sealys mother was perhaps a Baker; or, perhaps William Baker, Jr., was the father of William Baker Sealy.
