I am in the extremely preliminary stages of beginning a little original research on the McCoy family in the western parts of North and South Carolina. Some cities of importance: Westminster, SC; Seneca, SC; Franklin, NC; Gold Mine, NC (more of an area or community in Macon County, NC); Sugarfork, NC (another are or community in Macon County, NC); and Shelby, NC. Some names of importance: Isaac Newton (great grandfather), John Bunyan (grandfather), William N. (great, great grandfather), Judy Peek-McCoy (great, great grandmother), Jim McCoy (great, great, great grandfather), and Sarah Ann Rogers-McCoy (great, great, great grandmother). Isaac Newton and William N. are buried in Gold Mine, NC at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. If anyone has any known associations, information, or helpful tips, I would greatly appreciate it.
