Bruce Turner and I are cousins, related through John James and Georgia Ellen Barnes Turner's children. Bruce is the son of Carl Turner, the baby brother of my grandmother, Carl's sister, Erma Winnafred Turner. The actual ledgers which show all the births of the children of John James and 'Ella' Turner are still held(as far as I know)in the offices of the Registrar of Deeds for Jones Co., NC in Trenton, NC. There is a website that gives directions to the Turner Plantation Graveyard, but if you try to go, the path is blocked by a chain link fence. You should contact the Jones Co., NC, Historical Society to find out who owns the land; you will need the owner's permission to get through the gate. If some of us Turner descendants don't do something soon, the graveyard will be plowed under and disappear...

If you want the Turner lineage back to England, please e-mail me. I will give you their family crest and everything else I have.
