i was looking up who were the earlist arabs to come to america, and the wahan family were:

Family tradition holds that the Wahab family of Okracoke Island, thirty miles off the coast of North Carolina, de­scends from the first Wahab sent as an emissary of the "King of Arabia" in the mid-sixteenth century "to establish the Muslim religion in the New World." Shipwrecked with a load of Arabian horses on the outer banks of North Carolina, Wahab established "Wahab Village," site of an inn still run by the Wahab family.
