i was looking up who were the earlist arabs to come to america, and the wahan family were:
Family tradition holds that the Wahab family of Okracoke Island, thirty miles off the coast of North Carolina, descends from the first Wahab sent as an emissary of the "King of Arabia" in the mid-sixteenth century "to establish the Muslim religion in the New World." Shipwrecked with a load of Arabian horses on the outer banks of North Carolina, Wahab established "Wahab Village," site of an inn still run by the Wahab family.
