Henry Lowie was a blacksmith according to the 1860 census in Haywood NC. He was born in 1811, had 6 children, four that were born in NC. There are several different spellings Lowee, Lowie, Lowery, Lowye, Lowe. In these spellings I have found Indians and slaves. I can not seem to find anything on him except 1860 census. There is a story in our family that they were part Indian. I feel this or possible slaves, maybe why there is no information. I noticed there was a slave owner in Haywood James R Lowe. I have ancesters named James, John R and one of that group whos census had last name Lowe.
ANY INFORMATION ANYONE CAN HELP ME WITH, IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
THANK YOU
