In the Person County Heritage book, article number 40.... Major Davis,Sr. married Mary Bowles. Their child was Ruffin Thomas Davis born 10/5/1840 and Mildred Clayton. Mildred was the daughter of Thomas Clayton,Jr. and Elizabeth Betsy Chandler. Rubbin and Mildred's children were John Thomas Born 6/6/1884 died 2/14/1930 James Atlas Selina Frances Jesse Warren William Ruffin "Buck" David Lewis Lemuel Potter Charles Tausley Nora Ell There is a Davis cemetery in Person County on Ruff Davis Road.
