Anyone connect to the Roberson or Oakley clan? 1. Gideon Smith Roberson. b. Jul 1844 in NC and his father was born in NC. and his mother was born in Tenn. Gideon died in South Carolina. Occupation: Pearl Fisherman, Born or lived on a houseboat on Mississippi River, moved to Ill, then to NC., and finally to SC. Brother Johnny Roberson b. ? Wainwright, Callaway Co.,MO. In 1900 lived in Durham TWp in Durham CO., NC. dwelling # 187.         On 16 Jan 1875 when Gideon Smith was 30, he married Carrie Amanda Oakley most likely in NC.         Carrie Amanda Oakley. Born on 8 Jun 1852 in N.C. Carrie Amanda died on 20 Sep 1943, she was 91. Daug. of Erwin Oakley and Dicie Mae Newman. Per 1900 census 1 child had died. 1900 census of Surburbs of Durham City sht 6 district 5 was taken on 8 Jun 1900.        Children:               i.
