Mr Bradley-
The Durham Cemetery Survey has the cemetery you mentioned located at the rear of property located at 2411 Fayetteville St-visible from Burlington Ave-61 graves abandoned and trashed cemetery about 1/2 graves marked. This is close to NCCU- But you mentioned Francis Marion Proctor-the same book has this entry for him Francis Marion Proctor (Mollie R) b 6/16/1857 d 2/18/1888 unfortunately there will not be a death certificate this early for him.-no dates concerning Mollie R but notes she may have been Mollie Russell-Also they are not buried in the cemetery off Fayetteville St but in the O K Proctor Cemetery-lcoated on the east side of Hoover Rd-according to the survey it is used with about 12 marked graves (this is as of 1984)-Hoover Rd is off Hwy 70A south of I85 and Hwy 98 if you have a Durham map. You can either contact me directly or the Reference dept of the Durham Co Library as they have the updated cemetery records. There is sure to be a connection been these two cemeteries as I noticed Barbee's in both. Also, if you get a chance you may want to look at a book DURHAM AND HER PEOPLE by Dula copyrighted around 1950. I think there are articles on Proctors from Durham not sure which ones it this book. There are a couple of other Proctor cemeteries in Durham but Oskell Kinion's is where I found the note for Francis Marion. Plus there are a couple of cemeteries not included in the book that are on the records at the library-Maplewood and Beechwood-the two city cemeteries for instance.
