Ebenezer is the son of James Eaton and Grace Ferebee (widow of Benjamin Mathias). Probably born in Bucks County, PA Nov 16, 1783, Ebenezer first married Nancy King in Rowan County, NC in 1805. After that he moved to Butler County, OH where he married Phoebe in 1811.
His father James Eaton. born about 1755, died about 1820 and buried at Timber Ridge Cemetery, Davie County. James was among at least seven children of Peter D. Eaton and Catherine Williams. Several moved to NC. James' brother Rev. Peter D. Eaton, Jr. among them. Peter Eaton bought property which is known in Davie County as the Benjamin Eaton House. There is a good book on the architecture of early houses in the county published by the Davie County Historical and Genealogical Society in 1986.
Ebenezer's brother Peter, Nov 20, 1787 to Dec 15, 1843, married Tabitha Harbin Oct 22, 1807 in Surry County, had at least nine children and is buried with Tabitha at Eaton's Baptist Church in Davie County.
His other brother Benjamin, Jun 22, 1785 to Aug 28, 1829, married Amelia Fox Dec 01, 1808 and had at least eight children. Benjamin inherited the property of his uncle Rev. Peter Eaton Jan 1817 and lived there with Amelia, passing it to his children. According to the book, it was left to Davie County in 1975.
