In 1763 you will find John GREEN living N. side of Western Prong with 3 slaves in the area of Barnabus STEPHENS and wife Charity HOLMES STEPHENS. In 1768 John GREEN is listed
with William GREEN and & 3 slaves. In 1770 we have John GREEN, William GREEN, Simon GREEN and 4 slaves. In 1773 Bryan GREEN appears in Western Prong area. In 1769 he was living on Horseshoe Swamp. Relationship to John GREEN family at this time is unknown. Eliza GREEN appear by her self in Western Prong tax list. There was a John GREEN & 1 white male on the tax roll in the area. Since Eliza appears alone I am inclinded to believe John GREEN (1727-1776) is deceased.
Based on John GREEN I (Edgecombe County deeds) he is possible progentor of the GREEN in Western Prong, Brown Marsh and White Marsh areas. He came to Bladen Co., NC c. 1736 settled on SW side of NW. River. John GREEN I died 1749 his wife was Margaret. Margaret (maiden name unknown) purchased land on White Marsh in 1749.
