I am interested in the children of this Stephen Smith. I have a Cullen Smith born 1777 who migrated from Wayne Co. NC about 1816 to Anson Co. NC. He may be the one indicated as Stephen Cullen Smith listed at the following link:

I also have the following: Greene County, NC - Cullen Smith - Revolutionary Service Delamar Extracts, Pgs 1-200 Legislative Papers Relating to Revolutionary Service NC Archives Cullen Smith of Green County. Petition humbly sheweth that his father Stephen Smith was a soldier in the Continental line of this state, and died in service on or about the third of June 1783, and your petitioner sheweth that a certain Archibal Lytle has since drawn the Military warrant your petitioner was entitled to, being the Legal representative of Stephen Smith, as will appear by documents accompanying this petition, and as it appears from the Secretaries Books that no Grant has issued upon the Warrant aforesaid, your petitioner prays a Duplicate Dec 12, 1800 In both the House and the Senate December 12, 1800, read and referred to Committee

Stephen Smith & wife Joanna Council are reported to have a son named Stephen and I suspect he may be Stephen Cullen Smith. There is an article about this family in the recently published Columbus Co. NC Heritage Book submitted by a Janice F. Smith.
