Hello,

I live in Lakeland, FL, and happened to be driving through an old cemetery in town today. I always look for tombstones that tell where a person was born because I figure if someone is from out of state (even out of town, maybe!) that their descendants may not know where they ended up and are buried.

Today I saw the tombstone for an Ogden Vincent HAYNES. It stated that he was born at Whiteville, NC, and was b. 3 Feb 1860 and d. 10 Sep 1915. He was apparently a member of the "Woodmen of the World" as his marker had their seal.

If he had a wife and she was buried nearby, I wasn't able to spot the marker easily, as the weather was starting to get bad and I wasn't able to get out of my car and go take a closer look.

I couldn't find Mr. HAYNES listed anywhere on Rootsweb WorldConnect, so decided to post the information here in case it would be of assistance to anyone. I'm also posting it on the HAYNES surname message board.

Best wishes,

K. Stewart
Lakeland, FL

P.S. The name of the cemetery was Roselawn Cemetery.
