Thanks, Kate!! This is definitely useful information! What was the name of your gg-grandfather who lived in Hinds County, MS? One of many things I've been wondering about is how the Stanley children (the children of Alfred and Emily Donoho Stanley) ended up in Mississippi. From what I've been able to put together, the Stanley sons seemed to do a good bit of moving back and forth between St. Mary Parish, Louisiana, and Hinds County, Mississippi, in young adulthood. And their mother, Emily Donoho, died there while apparently visiting Alfred Dorsey Stanley, the son who settled permanently in Hinds County. (I'm still trying to figure out what became of the other two sons, Edgar and Cecil. I know, of course, what happened to their sister, Emily Stanley Milligan, my g-grandmother.)
Anyway, I bet your gg-grandfather is somehow related to why some of the Stanleys ended up in Hinds County.
