I'm looking for the family of a John Johnston b. bef. 1765 in NC, m. Catherine ?, moved to TN in the 1790s, and died in Rutherford county, TN in 1825. They had four daughters, Nancy, Catherine, Susannah, and another whose name is unknown at this point. I don't know for sure that I'm looking in the right county, just poking around. There were a lot of John Johnstons in NC in the 1790 census. Just in Caswell county there were four, one each in Nash and St. Lawrence districts and two in Richmond. His daughter Susannah married Samuel Eskridge, son of Richard Eskridge and Elizabeth Read. They were definitely in Caswell, and I've seen other Johnston/Eskridge marriages in this county. I'm wondering if anyone has any info on either Johnston/Eskridge intermarriages, or on Johnstons in general. Really anything you think might be helpful would be welcome. Thanks in advance.
